Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a hashed value). When you upload sketches for AI feedback, we store the sketch images temporarily to process feedback. We also collect usage data including lesson progress, streak information, and feedback history to improve your learning experience.
How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to provide and improve the Markday service, including: authenticating your account, delivering AI feedback on your uploaded sketches, tracking your learning progress and streaks, processing payments through Stripe, and sending you relevant communications about your account and learning journey.
AI Processing of Sketches
When you upload a sketch, it is sent to OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision API for analysis. OpenAI processes the image to generate feedback. We do not use your sketches for training AI models. Sketches are stored on our servers to display in your feedback history. You can delete your sketches and associated feedback at any time from your account settings.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: Stripe (for payment processing), OpenAI (for sketch analysis — images only, no personal identifiers), and hosting providers (for infrastructure). All third-party services are bound by their respective privacy policies.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and secure authentication tokens. Sketch images are stored on encrypted servers. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.
Your Rights

Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens). We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our site. You can disable analytics cookies in your browser settings without affecting the core functionality of the service.
